MTI Program

     

This is a full-time study program with a minimum schooling of three years and no more four years. In the first one and half years, the postgraduates should focus on course study, and in the second one and half years, postgraduates should focus on translation practice, thesis compiling and thesis defense.

This program is to be regional development-oriented, devoting to foster high level translators with global vision, good professional ethics, strong bi-lingual proficiency and cross-culture communications skills. Upon graduation, a master’s degree of translation and interpretation would be conferred.  

The total required credit is 40 (include credit for translation internship). Only when the required credit is reached, students could start the compiling of thesis, and after the successful thesis defense, students could apply for their master’s degree under the prescribed procedures. Seminars, supplemented by lectures, would be adopted for this program. Translation practice works with no less than 150,000 characters is a must for getting the degree. During the tutoring process, group instruction is encouraged and those with language service experience and managerial seniors would also be invited to give lectures and instructions to the graduates.
