I. Job Description

The college seeks to recruit talents in the context of English, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, and Russian Candidates with profound academic background in Translation Studies, Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies, Country and Regional Studies, and Chinese as a Second Language Education are particularly prioritized.

II. Qualifications

A. Distinguished talents

World-class scientists with high academic attainments and research directions at the frontier areas; talents with significant academic contributions in their fields, having recognized academic status and academic reputation to lead the development of their disciplines

B. Leading experts

Experts with original and remarkable academic achievements to solve “bottleneck” problems in key areas. Candidates boasting of great influence in the academic circle and capacity to serve as the discipline leader, no older than 50 in principle.

Position A2:

Experts with great academic achievements and to make breakthroughs in “bottleneck” problems is highly desirable. Candidates capable to take the lead in the peers , no older than 50 in principle.

Position B (B1, B2):

Candidates with ability to make academic achievements and potential to take the lead among the peers, no older than 50. Position will be granted based on  comprehensive assessment of his or her capability.

C. Leading young talents

Position A1:

Candidates with major academic achievements recognized by domestic and foreign counterparts and capacity of leading research tasks, no older than 47.

Position A2:

Experts with two or more years of full time working experience,, along with outstanding academic achievements in the past five years. Candidates potential to be entitled the Distinguished Young Scholars, chairperson of national projects, no older than 40.

Position B (B1, B2):

Experts with two or more years of full time working experience,, along with outstanding academic achievements in the past five years. Candidates potential to be entitled the Distinguished Young Scholars, chairperson of national projects, no older than 40. Position will be granted based on comprehensive assessment of his or her capability.

A. Innovation teams

Teams with clear and feasible research objectives and plans, world-class research capacity, fixed team members and reasonable age and specialty architecture, and necessarily the leading capacity of team leaders.

B. Associate Professor

PhD with prominent academic accomplishments in the past 5 years, great academic potential, no more than 35 in principle.

C. Candidates for tenure track

PhD holders no more than 35 years in principle; an initial term of three years.

III. Salary and Benefits

A. Benefits for Distinguished talents, Leading experts, Leading young talents, and Innovation teams

1. Continuing appointments and competitive salaries;

2. Financial support and experimental facility for research work;

3. Enrollment quota about graduate students in accordance with the relevant school policies;

4. All-ownership housing and housing subsidies;

5.Settle in the spouses’ job and children’s education in accordance with the relevant school policies (including the kindergarten, the elementary school and the secondary school affiliated to Northwest A&F University).

B. Benefits for Associate professors

1. Continuing appointments and the salary and benefits equivalent to that of the associate professors (level 7 teaching staff).

2. Initial research funds of 100 thousand RMB;

3. Housing guarantee will be offered;

a. A housing unit (120-140 square meters) or housing allowance of equivalent value will be offered provided that candidates are qualified during the first three-year term.

b. The housing property rights will be granted to the candidates working for A&F for more than 10 years after passing the relevant assessment.

4. High-quality educational for children.

C. Benefits for candidates for tenure-track

1. Basic annual salary of 150,000 RMB and other benefits for PhD and postdoc.

2. Initial research funds of 100,000  RMB

3. Housing guarantee:

a. A housing unit (120-140 square meters) or housing allowance of equivalent value will be offered provided that candidates are qualified during the first three-year term.

b. The housing property rights will be granted to candidates working for A&F for more than 10 years after passing the relevant assessment.

4. High-quality educational resources for children.
